Covid-safe Visiting

Welcome Back!

All New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs museums and historic sites require visitors to follow statewide public health orders, executive orders, as well as CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19.

As a resident, or as a visitor, it is your obligation to be aware of and follow these same public health orders and executive orders.

Attendance capacity is limited according to law.

Todos los museos y sitios históricos del Departamento de Asuntos Culturales de Nuevo México requieren que los visitantes sigan las órdenes de salud pública en todo el estado, las órdenes ejecutivas, así como las indicaciones de CDC (centro de control y prevención de enfermedades) para ayudar a prevenir la propagación de enfermedades respiratorias como lo es COVID-19.

Como residente o visitante, es tu obligación ser consciente y seguir estas mismas órdenes ejecutivas y órdenes de salud pública.

  • In New Mexico, everyone is required to wear an approved mask or cloth face covering when in public except when drinking, eating, or under medical instruction. Masks with vents do not satisfy the State’s Public Health Order. Violators of these requirements will be subject to a fine.

    En Nuevo México, todos deben usar mascarillas aprobadas o un pañuelo que cubra la cara cuando estén en público, excepto cuando beban, coman o estén bajo restricciones médicas. Mascarillas con válvulas no cumplen con la Orden de Salud Pública. Los violadores de estos requisites serán sujetos a una multa.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

    Evita tocarte los ojos, la nariz y la boca.

  • Social distancing is required. Maintain at least 6 feet / 1.8 meters space between you and others.

    Se require distanciamiento social. Mantén un espacio de al menos 6 pies o 1.8 metros de distancia entre tú y otros.

  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

    Quédate en casa si estás enfermo, excepto para buscar atención médica. Evita el contacto cercano con las personas enfermas.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

    Lávate las manos frecuentemente con agua y jabón por al menos 20 segundos.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

With the health and safety of our visitors, employees, and the community our utmost priority, and in accordance with law, we are implementing a number of measures including:

  • Limiting the number of visitors in accordance with the most current New Mexico Public Health Order to promote a physically distanced and safe environment.

  • Requiring all visitors and employees to wear masks or cloth face coverings except when drinking, eating, or under medical instruction.

  • Providing 6-foot social distancing markers and one-way directional flow in high traffic areas.

  • Installation of hand sanitizer stations at the entrances and near elevators.

  • Maintaining a schedule of stringent daily cleaning and sanitizing.

  • Frequent and thorough cleaning of high-touch items such as doors, credit card terminals, counters, etc.

  • Adding plexiglass barriers at cash registers, help desks, etc.

  • Closure of all theaters, auditoriums, interactive exhibits and attractions, etc.

  • Discontinuation of rental equipment (unless required for ADA accessibility) and coat check areas, lockers, or other related public storage services.

  • Limiting access to areas where patrons are likely to congregate.
